"...ready to do in an instant just what we hadn’t expected, to live in total self-abandonment, with no other concern than doing God’s will and being fully available to people and events. evangelisation in culture

Presented by Monica Doumit and Branka van der Linden

A feminine, pro-life voice in the public square: 25 years ago this week, Pope St John Paul II issued his great encyclical, Evangelium Vitae. In it, he wrote that we “find ourselves in the midst of a dramatic conflict between the ‘culture of death’ and the ‘culture of life’.” His observation is just as true in the present day, with abortion now legal across the country, euthanasia available in Victoria and laws proposed in numerous other states. The “feminine genius of women, a phrase coined by Pope St John Paul, refers to the unique gifting and contribution that women bring to the world by virtue of their femininity. Through our voices, raised in the public square, and through our works at the service of life and family, Catholic women have a unique role to play in building a culture of life and love.
